
People are always looking for new ideas and different weight loss tips that will help them on their quest for the perfect beach body. Some expect to find the holy grail at some point and others are realistic in their expectations. The truth is that weight loss is difficult and that there is no holy grail. If anything comes close it is knowledge and practice. Every little bit of knowledge you can pick up will cumulate to create a library that you can pull on when you are in need of answers or motivation.
Simple is always good and simple weight loss tips can be much more effective than complex ideas that are difficult to grasp or put into practice. Chewing gum is about as simple as it gets and also happens to be one of the most effective tools in satiating hunger.
Chewing gum can lead to the illusion that you are putting food into your mouth, which releases hormones that tell your brain that your stomach is full. Part of the problem with eating is that the delayed response of these hormones often causes us to eat until after we are full. At which point our brain tells us we are full and we get that unbutton the pants feeling.
You have a couple of options. If you are really hungry and it is meal time, eat, just do it slowly. Take breaks, talk, set your utensils down, use chopsticks, just slow down. Chew, enjoy your food for a change, think about what it really tastes like. Second option, if you know you are not really hungry, you just have the urge to eat, pop a piece of sugar free gum and do something to take your mind off of food for the next ten minutes. Chances are that you will forget your impulsive hunger and go on about your day.
Like I said, simple weight loss tips are easy to follow and this one is about as easy as it gets. No eating, no exercise, not even will power.
